The EZ-THUMP 3 kV and 4 kV provide a simple, reliable solution to find faults in LV power cables. The EZ-THUMP products bring together several essential tests, including hi-pot, TDR, pre-location, and pinpointing surge testing, into one portable unit. These tough, lightweight systems can run on battery or AC power, making them easy to use in the field whenever and wherever you need it.

Easy-to-Use Automated system

The EZ-THUMP Series features the E-Tray automation system that guides you through each step of the fault-finding process. It automatically adjusts during testing, so you spend less time making manual changes. The system offers two modes: Quick-step for occasional users and Expert mode for more advanced work. The clear seven-inch color display is easy to read, even in bright sunlight.

Reliable Safety and Accuracy

Safety and accuracy are built into every EZ-THUMP unit. The F-OHM safety feature checks for dangerous differences in electrical potential and stops operation if something is unsafe. Multi-shot Technology takes hundreds of measurements very quickly, improving the chances of finding the exact fault location and avoiding mistakes. This careful process helps keep both operators and cables safe.

Weighing as little as 32 kg, the EZ-Thump 3 kV is the first of its kind in the market and, with updated EZ-Thump 4 kV, this series has the most portable fault location systems specifically for shielded and unshielded low voltage power cables.

These instruments use the "Easy Go" test system, which is easy to operate, interprets the results, and requires minimal training to find faults. On-board is a TDR with a 7.6 km range and arc reflection at 3 or 4 kV respectively for pre-locating. For pinpointing, the EZ-Thump offers a surge energy of 500 J, at 1.5 and 3 kV or 4 kV respectively, DC testing for breakdown detection, and insulation resistance measurement.

This EZ-Thump series is also able to perform sheath fault testing and sheath fault location.

The units can be operated from the mains or using their internal battery. They can fit in the boot of a car, making them ideal for a flexible rapid response fault finding strategy.
