Automatic Transfer Switch

Automatic Transfer Switch

An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is an essential control panel in modern electrical infrastructure designed to guarantee a continuous power supply. This intelligent device monitors the voltage from the active power source and automatically transfers the electrical load to an alternative source the moment it detects an outage, brownout, or phase loss.

The system can be configured to switch between a primary utility grid and a backup generator, or seamlessly transition between two independent utility power sources (e.g., Substation 1 and Substation 2) for critical facilities equipped with dual utility feeds.

  • Ultrafast Transfer Detects power anomalies within milliseconds, enabling fast source transfer and minimizing downtime that could affect sensitive equipment.

  • Dual Interlock Protection Uses both mechanical and electrical interlocks to prevent two power sources from being connected simultaneously and reduce short-circuit risk.

  • Switchgear Integration Monitors Local/Remote mode, CB position, voltage source, earthing switch, VCB rack position, and fault/trip status for safe transfer operation.

  • Smart Automation Automates transfer operation with programmable delays for generator warm-up and cool-down, including synchronized switching for dual-substation systems.

  • Real-Time Monitoring & SCADA Provides real-time monitoring through HMI/LCD, LAN, and Cloud SCADA for convenient local and remote system supervision and control.

  • Comprehensive Event Logging & History Record Automatically records source transfers, alarms, power anomalies, and operational events to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and system analysis.
