Magnetic release
An electromagnet with plunger ensures instanta neoustripping in the event of short-circuit. The standarddistinguishes three different types, follo wing the currentfor instantaneous release: type B,C,D.

Thermal release
The release is initiated by a bimetal strip in case of overload. The standard defines the range of releases forspecific overload values.Reference ambient temperature is 30°C.

Characteristicsaccording to EN/IEC 60947-2

Magnetic release
An electromagnet with plunger ensures instantaneoustripping in the event of short-circuit. The standardleaves the calibration of magnetic release to themanufacturer's discretion.
GE offers instantaneous tripping ranges:
- B: 4 ln
- C: 8.5 In (7.5 In for 63A)
- D and M: 14 ln
- K: 10 In (6 In ≥ 2 s.)

Thermal release
The release is initiated by a bimetal strip in case of overload. The standard defines the range of releases for twospecial overload values.Reference ambient temperature is:
• 40°C for GT10 and GT25
• 50°C for G60 and G100, except for K: 45°C
